RIDERSOS SMS PROGRAM

What is RiderSOS?

RiderSOS is a voluntary member assistance notification service available to members of Spyder Riders Hub.


The purpose of RiderSOS is to help connect riders who may need non-emergency assistance with nearby members who have volunteered to help.


Examples of assistance may include:

  • Mechanical advice

  • Basic roadside assistance

  • Fuel assistance

  • Trailer assistance

  • Transportation assistance

  • Temporary shelter

  • Navigation assistance

  • Communication assistance

  • Other rider-to-rider support


RiderSOS is a community assistance system and is not a replacement for professional emergency services, roadside assistance programs, towing services, law enforcement, medical services, or 911.

How to Opt In

To receive RiderSOS SMS notifications:

  1. Create a Spyder Riders Hub member account.

  2. Your phone number is required when you join.

  3. Log in to your account.

  4. Open My Hub > Settings.

  5. Enable RiderSOS SMS Alerts (default is NO). 

  6. Your selection is in effect and saved immediately

Only members who voluntarily enable RiderSOS SMS Alerts will receive RiderSOS text messages.

The RiderSOS SMS Alerts option is available within each member's account settings page. The default is "NO":

Eligibility Requirements

Participation in RiderSOS is available only to registered Spyder Riders Hub members.


To receive RiderSOS SMS notifications, members must:

• Maintain an active Spyder Riders Hub membership account (free or paid).

• Provide a valid mobile phone number capable of receiving SMS messages.

• Voluntarily enable RiderSOS SMS Alerts within their account settings.


Members may disable RiderSOS SMS Alerts at any time through their account settings or by replying STOP to a RiderSOS text message.


Spyder Riders Hub reserves the right to suspend or discontinue RiderSOS participation for violations of website policies, misuse of the RiderSOS system, or other circumstances deemed necessary to protect members and the integrity of the service.

Types of Messages

Members who opt in may receive messages such as:


Assistance Requests

Spyder Riders Hub RiderSOS: A nearby rider is requesting non-emergency assistance. Reply YES if you may assist, NO if unavailable, or HELP for assistance. Reply STOP to unsubscribe.


Status Updates

Spyder Riders Hub RiderSOS: Thank you for responding. The requesting rider has been notified that assistance may be available.


Request Updates

Spyder Riders Hub RiderSOS: No nearby helpers are currently available. Your request remains active and additional nearby members may still be contacted.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on:

  • RiderSOS activity in your area

  • Your participation preferences

  • Assistance requests submitted by other members

Some members may receive no messages, while others may receive multiple messages depending on RiderSOS activity.

Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply according to your wireless carrier plan.


Spyder Riders Hub does not charge members for receiving RiderSOS SMS messages, however standard carrier messaging rates may apply.

Opt-Out Instructions

You may stop receiving RiderSOS SMS messages at any time by replying:

STOP

to any RiderSOS text message.


After opting out, you will no longer receive RiderSOS SMS notifications unless you re-enable the feature through your account settings.

Help Instructions

For assistance with the RiderSOS SMS program, reply:

HELP

to any RiderSOS text message.

Consent

By enabling RiderSOS SMS Alerts, you consent to receive text messages related to:

  • RiderSOS assistance requests

  • RiderSOS status updates

  • Account-related RiderSOS notifications

Participation in RiderSOS SMS Alerts is voluntary. A Spyder Riders Hub membership is required to participate in RiderSOS; however, members are not required to enable RiderSOS SMS Alerts to maintain their membership or access other website features and services.


When a RiderSOS assistance request is submitted, participating helpers may receive the requesting member's approximate or exact location, along with information necessary to provide assistance. By enabling RiderSOS SMS Alerts, members consent to receiving such location information and acknowledge that their own location may be shared with responding helpers when they request assistance.

Privacy

SMS consent is not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

Information collected through RiderSOS is handled in accordance with the Spyder Riders Hub Privacy Policy.

  • Does not verify the qualifications of helpers.

  • Does not guarantee assistance will be available.

  • Does not guarantee response times.

  • Does not provide emergency services.

  • Does not provide towing services.

  • Does not provide professional mechanical services.
